About Daisy
• Winter - with Its blanket of white fallen snow, as the seeds of life below it lie fast asleep
• Spring - bringing warmth and rebirth to the burst of vibrant colors that awaken beneath
• Summer - displaying its bold hues in full bloom under the care of the nurturing sunlight
• Fall - the cool crisp air that encompasses the blazing brilliance of the fall foliage as nature prepares once again in the cycle of life
About Lizzie
Born and raised in New England, I have experienced the unfolding beauty of the four seasons and continue to embrace the unique magnificence possessed by each of them.
I have been an early childhood educator for 25 years and recognized by Massachusetts Association for the Education of Young Children(MAAEYC) for being honored for my commitment and dedication to children as one of the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation Teachers of the Year.
Initially, I attended Mount Wachusett Community College then continued my studies at Lesley University, Cambridge Massachusetts with a degree in Human Development and Early Childhood Education.
As a child advocate, mentor, professional development trainer, and a participant of a successful two year social/emotional longitudinal study in children 4-5 years old (Second Step), I have the opportunity to provide young children innovative ways that spark their curiosity to learn, based on their individual diverse needs. This serves as an ongoing and lifelong passion and adventure for me.
Endorsements
I read this book to my granddaughter, and she loves it! After we read it, she wanted to make her own Daisy puppet with construction paper, scissors, glue and a craft stick to hold it.
Although this is a children’s book, I really enjoyed it myself and how it showed Daisy going through each stage of her life- it’s a book adults can also relate to in their own journey. I really enjoyed the part of the story when Daisy talks with her friends about the seven days a week and what a plant needs to grow. This sparked a great conversation between me and my granddaughter as I read the book.
I plan on buying additional books for my other grandchildren and planting our own “Daisy”!

Whether you home school, provide early childhood care or simply love reading with your family, “The Flower That Lost Its Petals” is a must add to your library!
Not only does this book teach children about the seed to flower cycle, but it also opens a window into our social and emotional feelings. We see the four seasons beautifully illustrated throughout Daisy’s journey and we hear the rhyming text which can encourage children to try to predict the next word.
And the best part? “The Flower That Lost Its Petals” will never become outdated or obsolete. It will withstand the test of time…

Parents want to encourage, promote and instill a love for reading in their children. The Flower that Lost its Petals will do just that!
I am so excited to purchase this treasure for my new grandbaby and introduce him/her to
Daisy. Follow Daisy through her many adventures and relationships with her friends as they learn about ways to be kind and respectful towards themselves, others and the earth and enjoy the warm-hearted conversations Daisy has with her friends in nature.
You will love this journey with Daisy as children learn about the life cycle of a plant as it changes
with each season, while absorbing important values and life skills to carry with them-just as we, as adults grow and change through each season in our life’s journey. I found this to be a book for both children and adults.
